About Tiphynee Salazar, MS, LPC

Tiphynee Salazar I am a therapist specializing in individual and couples counseling, depression, anxiety, mood and personality disorders.

I earned a Master of Science in School and Professional Counseling from Texas Wesleyan University.  I have worked for 10 years as a school counselor and part-time as a private practice counselor since 2013.

I have been trained in Narrative Therapy from the Narrative Institute in the United Kingdom and in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy from “Brief” in London.

I have worked extensively with the gay and lesbian population, especially couples.  As a mother of a transgender woman, I have an understanding that perhaps others do not.

I am here as an unbiased therapist.  I have no agenda.  I do not set the goals of therapy.  You will tell me what your goals are, and we will work our way through the process of achieving them.  I hope to make this process -- this journey -- as comfortable as possible and to make everyone feel welcome and relaxed in the environment of therapy.

I approach every client as a competent and capable person that is seeking someone to help them navigate through difficulties in life. I believe that you, my client, are the expert on your life.  I am merely an advisor through the therapeutic process.  It is my role to walk through this journey with you.  My only goal is for you to achieve the goals you outline in our conversations.

I look forward to walking along this path with you.
